Black Canadian Civic Forums

Inquire - Inform - Empower

The Diversity Advancement Network, several community leaders and our partners are very excited about this great initiative geared towards encouraging people to participate in politics either as candidates or as a responsible individual by participating in one of these events. We do not support or endorse any party or candidate in the past, present or future. While publishing the Afro-Caribbean News in 2010, we had the opportunity to attend the Filipino Mayoral Forum, Chinese Mayoral Forum, and many others, but none was planned for the black community, so we took up the responsibility to organize one in Calgary and we later held similar events in several cities nationwide. We have also contributed to electoral monitoring and educating youths on the benefits of exercising their civic duties in other countries.

Location: These events held for Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga, Ajax, Pickering, Oshawa, Whitby, and Calgary Alberta in the past and we hope to add more cities and countries in the future.

Theme: "ADDRESSING BLACK COMMUNITY ISSUES" [Development, Unemployment, Safety, Transit, Housing, Inclusion, etc]

Official Hashtags: #BlackCanadians #BlackCanadianVote  (Then add your city #Ottawa or #Calgary or #Montreal or #Toronto)

EXPECTED PARTICIPANTS: All Stakeholders, Candidates, Students, Professionals, Business Owners, Community leaders and anyone who would love to learn a few helpful information and participate in building our democratic institutions or exercise their civic duties.
